Flixton - Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum

This museum incorporates themed collections for 446th Bombardment Group USAAF, RAF Bomber Command, Royal Observer Corps, No. 6 Group, Air Sea Rescue & Coastal Command. It has a surprisingly large and varied collection of aircraft and, despite mostly being kept outside in all weathers, they are mostly in remarkably good order.

They also have a staggering amoung very interesting "junk" - recovered damaged, crashed, propellers, undercarriage parts, engines, bits and pieces of this and that, several Merlin engines, some fascinating WW2 BMW engines and even parts of V2 rockets. And there are several separate sections, with all manner of memoribilia and ephemera. An outstandingly comprehensive collection of WW2 and post-war (including Falklands), hardware and memories.

Below is a selection of photos I took on a very chilly but brilliantly sunny day - 27th January 2008. I am no avaiation expert, so if you can correct or enhance the captions, please let me know through the Contact page. Thank you.
